Dr. Michael Kleven, DO
Dr. Kleven completed his undergraduate education at Brigham Young University with a degree in Psychology. He then attended medical school at Midwestern University here in Glendale, AZ and completed a rotating internship and family practice residency at Mesa General Hospital.
Since then he’s been an associate at West Valley Internal Medicine. In addition to his office practice, he is on staff at Sun Health Boswell Hospital and two local nursing facilities.
Dr. Kleven believes strongly that prevention is the best medicine, and that the best prevention is a healthy lifestyle. He focuses much of his practice on encourage his patients to adopt exercise habits and a healthy diet that will help them avoid chronic disease and the need for medications and surgery. Dr. Kleven practices conventional medicine, which does include the use of medication when appropriate, and he also acknowledges the beneficial role of alternative practices in the lives of many of his patients.
In his personal life, Dr. Kleven tries to practice what he preaches about living a healthy lifestyle. He also enjoys good movies, spending time with his family, studying nutrition and exercise, politics, religion and many other controversial topics of conversation.
